On July 30, Chinese Ambassador Lin Lin hosted a handover ceremony and donated water pumps and generators to Beit Bridge East Constituency on behalf of the Chinese Embassy. Zimbabwean Minister of State for National Security Mohadi and Mrs. Mohadi, officials and representatives from Beit Bridge East attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Lin said in his speech that having learned about the drought and hunger problems in Beit Bridge East, the Embassy decided to provide water pumps and generators to help the affected people. He said that part of the donation is funded by China-Africa People-to-People Friendship Action, which symbolizes the friendship between the two peoples and the kindness of the Chinese people towards their Zimbabwean brothers and sisters.

Minister Mohadi reviewed the long history of the friendship between China and Zimbabwe, and expressed his sincere gratitude to China’s support when Zimbabwean people are in need. He said that the donation would go a long way in helping the constituency to fight against drought.
