Q: Four Chinese were attacked by unidentified armed men in the city of Peshawar, northwest Pakistan, on July 8. Three were killed and one seriously injured. What's China's response?
A: The Chinese Government attaches great importance to this case and strongly condemns the attack against Chinese citizens. The Chinese Foreign Ministry and Embassy in Pakistan have made urgent representation to the Pakistani Embassy in China and competent authorities of Pakistan respectively, requesting Pakistan to carry out immediate investigation, bring the criminals to justice, properly treat the wounded and deal with the aftermath, and take concrete and effective measures to strengthen the protection over Chinese citizens in Pakistan so as to avoid recurrence of similar cases.
The Chinese Government hopes the Chinese citizens in Pakistan to raise their awareness of self-protection.
