Q： Chairman Arafat of Palestinian National Authority has made a statement recently in which he declared that the Palestinian side agreed to cease fire without any condition and resume peace talks as soon as possible on the basis of the Mitchell Report and the peace proposal initiated by Egypt and Jordan. What’s your comment on it?

A： We welcomed the statement made by Chairman Arafat, and strongly appeal to the both sides of Palestine and Israel to positively coordinate with the mediation efforts of the international community and take all measures necessary to resume negotiation as soon as possible.
