On 10 December 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding addressed the 2025 Business Review Conference of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC). The event was graced by the presence of Hon. Adv. Jacob F.N. Mudenda, Speaker of the Parliament; Hon. Prof. Dr. Amon Murwira, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade; Hon. Nqobizitha M. Ndhlovu, Minister of Industry and Commerce; and nearly 200 business community representatives.

In his remarks, Ambassador Zhou commended the ZNCC for its efforts in advancing Zimbabwe’s economic development and deepening China-Zimbabwe economic and trade cooperation. Noting that 2025 marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Zimbabwe, with bilateral cooperation yielding fruitful outcomes, he stressed that large-scale investments by Chinese enterprises have made remarkable contributions to Zimbabwe’s infrastructure development, industrial chain upgrading, and green transformation. China stands ready to deepen the alignment between its 15th Five-Year Plan and Zimbabwe’s National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), support Zimbabwe’s pursuit of sustainable development and industrialization, and inject fresh impetus into the joint endeavor to forge an all-weather China-Zimbabwe community with a shared future.

Speaker Mudenda and Zimbabwean ministers emphasized that Zimbabwe remains committed to its “Open for Business” policy, and will steadily improve the legislative framework, maintain consistency and stability in investment and monetary policies, proactively address the concerns of all stakeholders, and cultivate a competitive and investor-friendly business environment—thereby advancing the realization of the goals outlined in Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030.
