On 17 September 2026, H.E. Zhou Ding, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, attended and addressed the Completion Ceremony for the 4th Phase of China-Aid Senior Agricultural Experts Technical Assistance Project in Zimbabwe. Mr Kutywayo, Chief Director of Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, together with representatives from the agricultural sector, were present at the event.

Ambassador Zhou spoke highly of the work accomplished by the 4th senior agricultural expert team in Zimbabwe. He noted that over three years, the team established two agricultural cooperation and poverty alleviation demonstration villages and carried out extensive technical training, making valuable contributions to boosting local poverty reduction and income growth as well as advancing China-Zimbabwe friendship. Recent years have witnessed fruitful results in bilateral cooperation in agricultural infrastructure development, agricultural produce trade, agro-technology cooperation and food security. Taking the implementation of its zero-tariff policy as an opportunity, China stands ready to further deepen agricultural cooperation with Zimbabwe and support the country’s agricultural modernisation drive.

Commending the expert team for their selfless contributions to poverty reduction and rural development in Zimbabwe, Mr. Kutywayo expressed sincere appreciation for China’s robust support for Zimbabwe’s agricultural modernisation and voiced hope for further deepening bilateral agricultural cooperation. 

The Zimbabwean Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development awarded Special Contribution Medals to the seven experts of the team.
