Chinese Ambassador Zhou Ding Attends Grand Finale of Dreamstar Zimbabwe 2026

The grand finale of Dreamstar Zimbabwe 2026 was successfully held in Harare on 15 August 2026. Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding attended the event, delivered a speech, and presented awards to winning contestants. Hon. Emily Jesaya, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture of Zimbabwe, together with over 800 guests from all sectors of society, graced the occasion.

Congratulating all contestants on their outstanding performances, Ambassador Zhou pointed out that Dreamstar Zimbabwe has been held for ten consecutive years. Thanks to the consistent support of the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe, the local Chinese community and various social sectors, the platform has nurtured a large number of outstanding young Zimbabwean artists, more than 300 of whom have participated in cultural exchange programs and academic studies in China.  The programme has become a vivid epitome of the vibrant people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Zimbabwe.

Ambassador Zhou reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to continuing support for young Zimbabwean artists to participate in exchange performances and professional training in China, so as to inject fresh vitality into bilateral cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

Deputy Minister Emily Jesaya spoke highly of the program’s role in empowering Zimbabwean youth to pursue their artistic aspirations. She expressed readiness to work with all stakeholders to further deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Featuring brilliant and diverse performances, this year’s grand finale concluded with tremendous success. Contestant Warrior Ting claimed the overall championship and received the Chinese Ambassador’s Award.
