On 25 June 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding attended the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) 2026 Annual Congress and delivered a speech. Zimbabwe's Minister of Industry and Commerce, Honourable Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, together with other government officials and more than 200 representatives from the business community, attended the event.

Ambassador Zhou highlighted the latest achievements in China-Zimbabwe cooperation across various fields. He noted that China's zero-tariff policy for Africa has created a historic opportunity to elevate bilateral economic and trade cooperation to a new level. He expressed the hope that the two sides will expedite negotiations on the Agreement on Economic Partnership for Shared Development, strengthen policy coordination and financial cooperation, continue to enhance trade facilitation, expand Zimbabwe's exports of high-quality products to China, deliver greater benefits to both countries and their peoples, and further support Zimbabwe's economic development and Vision 2030.

Minister Ndlovu and other Zimbabwean participants spoke highly of China's zero-tariff policy, describing it as a major boost to Zimbabwe's exports and industrialisation. They said Zimbabwe would encourage local enterprises to seize the opportunities created by the policy to expand exports to China and promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
