On 17 June 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding met with Zimbabwe’s Minister of Industry and Commerce N. M. Ndhlovu. They exchanged views on deepening bilateral investment cooperation. Representatives from the Chamber of Chinese Enterprises in Zimbabwe (CCEZ) were also in attendance.

Ambassador Zhou reaffirmed China’s firm support for Zimbabwe’s industrialisation, noting that Chinese enterprises have made active contributions to its industrial upgrading and value-chain extension. He expressed the hope that Zimbabwe would continue to cultivate a stable, conducive business environment, protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese investors, and advance the sound and steady growth of China-Zimbabwe investment cooperation.

Minister Ndhlovu highly commended the significant role of Chinese enterprises in Zimbabwe’s economic development and welcomed more Chinese firms to invest and do business in the country. He stated that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce would strengthen communication with the CCEZ and individual companies to create favourable conditions for their operations, so as to achieve more tangible outcomes in bilateral investment cooperation.
During the meeting, representatives of Chinese enterprises held in-depth discussions with Minister Ndhlovu on relevant industrial policies.
