On June 2, 2026, Zhou Ding, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, attended the official launch ceremony of Zimbabwe Women in Manufacturing (ZWIM). The event was also attended by Hon. Mutimbanyoka, Deputy Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development of Zimbabwe, alongside local business representatives.

Ambassador Zhou extended warm congratulations on the official inauguration of ZWIM, and spoke highly of Zimbabwean women’s remarkable contributions to the country’s manufacturing growth and industrial value chain extension. Noting the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges as a great opportunity for bilateral engagement, the Ambassador affirmed China’s readiness to deepen industrial cooperation and technological sharing with Zimbabwe. China will continue to support local women in employment and entrepreneurship, and facilitate the upgrading and high-quality development of Zimbabwe’s manufacturing sector. He further encouraged Zimbabwean business community to fully capitalize on China’s zero-tariff policy to expand Zimbabwe’s exports to China, thereby bringing more tangible benefits to the people of the two nations.

Zimbabwean representatives expressed gratitude for China’s long-standing support for women’s empowerment and the development of local small and medium-sized enterprises in Zimbabwe. They vowed to seize opportunities arising from China’s zero-tariff initiative to deepen bilateral cooperation, strengthen and upgrade Zimbabwe’s manufacturing industry, and further advance the country’s industrialization agenda.
