On August 14, Chinese Ambassador Lin Lin attended the Donation Ceremony held at Sabina Mugabe Memorial High School in Zimbabwe, during which Huawei Technologies Zimbabwe donated 25 desktop computers and the Chinese Embassy donated sports items to the school. Minister of Mines and Mining Development Mr. Chidhakwa,representative of Huawei Technologies Zimbabwe, local officials, teachers and students were present.

Ambassador Lin Lin said that China-Zimbabwe friendship started way back during the liberation struggles of Zimbabwe and has been growing stronger and stronger ever since. China has taken education as one of the most important areas in assisting the development of Zimbabwe. The Chinese Government has not only donated school buildings and school equipment in Zimbabwe, but also sponsored dozens of Zimbabwean students to study in Chinese Universities every year. He encouraged the students to study harder so as to better serve the country in the future.
He also gave a briefing about the achievements of the Chinese enterprises and the Chinese communities in taking more social responsibilities and contributing more to the local communities in Zimbabwe, which he believed will further deepen the friendship between the two peoples.
Minister Chidhakwa expressed his gratitude to the Chinese side,commended the miracle of China's development, and hoped for a stronger and closer friendship between the two countries.He quoted the Chinese saying "A thousand miles begins with a single step" to encouragethe students to study harder.
Mr. Lai Xiaohai, representative of Huawei Technologies Zimbabwe,hoped that the students will be better equipped in their journey of exploring truth and knowledge with these 25 computers, and will contribute to the better future of Zimbabwe in due time.
