Chinese Ambassador Lin Lin Attended The Commissioning Ceremony of Medical Equipment

On March 5, 2015, Ministry of Health and Child Care of Zimbabwe held the Commissioning Ceremony of Medical Equipment at Harare Central Hospital. President Mugabe, Minister of Health and Child Care Parirenyatwa, Minister of State for Harare Provincial Affairs Chikukwa,Chinese Ambassador Lin Lin and about 200 local guests attended the ceremony. The equipment is worth of about $100 million, and issupplied by CMEC and funded by the commercial loans from China Exim Bank. It includes NMR, CT, digital X-ray machines, ultrasound machines, anesthesia machines, incubators, medical carts, ambulances and mobile clinic buses.

In his speech, President Mugabe expressed his gratitude to China for providing the loan.He said that with the new state-of-the-art equipment, Zimbabwe will be more proficient and efficient in delivering health service, the medical staff and patients will have greater confidence, and the number of patients seeking treatment in Zimbabwe could also increase. “Then with that confidence, the pride and the fame that it gives us, we will also be the pride and fame with our all-weather friends, the Chinese”.

Ambassador Lin introduced the cooperation between China and Zimbabwe in the field of health care as well as the latest development of bilateral ties. He said that it is the 35th anniversary of the establishment of China-Zimbabwe diplomatic relations this year. China and Zimbabwe will join hands in successfully implementing the outcome of President Mugabe’s State Visit in August last year and lifttheir bilateral cooperation to a new high.
