Ambassador Lin Lin Attended General Josiah Magama Tongogara Memorial 2015

On January 28, Zimbabwe Defence Forces held General Josiah Magama Tongogara Memorial 2015 in commemoration of General Tongogara's 35th death anniversary at the Army Headquarters. Minister of Defence Sydney Sekeramayi, Commander of Zimbabwe Defence Forces Constantine Chiwenga, Commander of Zimbabwe National Army P V Sibanda, Commander of Zimbabwe Air Force Perence Shiri, Minister of State for Harare Province Miriam Chikukwa, Minister of State for Midlands Province Jason Machaya, Minister of State for Masvingo Province Kudakwashe Bhasikiti, family members of General Tongogara, veterans and diplomats attended the function.

Ambassador Lin Lin was invited to address the function. He said that General Tongogara was one of the best students who were trained in China, andhad strong links with China. The Chinese side would like to join hands with the Zimbabwean side to further deepen the friendly bilateral cooperation. He also presented some historical photos of the Zimbabwean liberation fighters who took their training in China during the 1960s and 1970s to Dr. Mubako, Chairman of the Josiah MagamaTongogara Legacy Foundation.

Vice President Mnangagwa spoke highly of the contributions General Tongogara had made to the liberation struggles of Zimbabwe.
