On 14th January, 2010, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe H.E. Mr. Xin Shunkang met with World Bank Country Manager for Zimbabwe, Dr. Lenneiye. The two sides exchanged views on the economic and social development of Zimbabwe and the cooperation between China and WB in Zimbabwe.

Dr. Lenneiye said, WB is in good cooperative relations with China, and is ready to strengthen practical cooperation with China in Zimbabwe, in order to promote the economic and social development of Zimbabwe and maintain peace and stability of Zimbabwe.

H.E. Mr. Xin expressed that, China is willing to provide assistance to Zimbabwe as its ability permits, and there is a huge potential of cooperation between China and WB in Zimbabwe. H.E. Mr. Xin also put forward detailed suggestions on the cooperation of two sides in Zimbabwe in bid to help Zimbabwe with the economy recovery and improvement of people's living standard.
