Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding Signs Agreements on Economic-Technical Cooperation and Food Assistance with Zimbabwean Finance Minister

On 6 August, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding and Zimbabwean Minister of Finance and Economic Development Hon. Mthuli Ncube signed the China-Zimbabwe Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement alongside an Exchange of Letters for a new batch of food assistance. The signing ceremony was witnessed by H.E. President Mnangagwa.

Ambassador Zhou noted that signing of the two agreements was a concrete measure to implement the important consensus reached by the two Heads of State, injecting new impetus into the growing Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between China and Zimbabwe and demonstrates the profound friendship between our two peoples. As China and Zimbabwe celebrates the 45th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations, China stands ready to further strengthen practical cooperation across sectors and support Zimbabwe in achieving its Vision 2030.

President Mnangagwa expressed gratitude for China’s timely support, underscoring that enhanced bilateral cooperation will accelerate Zimbabwe’s socio-economic progress. Minister Ncube reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s commitment to advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation with China and anticipated more fruitful results in cooperation under the frameworks of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
