On August 8, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding met with Zimbabwean Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Hon. Amon Murwira. The two sides held an in-depth exchange on China-Zimbabwe relations.
Ambassador Zhou noted that China and Zimbabwe are good friends, brothers, and partners. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, bilateral relations have maintained sound and high-level development and continuously achieved fresh fruitful results. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. China is willing to take this opportunity to work with Zimbabwe to deepen political mutual trust and traditional friendship, strengthen bilateral economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, promote the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and jointly build a high-level China-Zimbabwe community with a shared future.
Minister Murwira said that Zimbabwe and China have always upheld mutual respect, treated each other as equals, and supported each other in safeguarding their respective core interests. He stated that the practical cooperation between the two countries is vibrant and dynamic. Zimbabwe cherishes its friendship with China, firmly upholds the One-China Principle, and is willing to further deepen the Zimbabwe-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation, so as to deliver more benefits to the peoples of both countries.
