On June 18, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding met with Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Torerayi Moyo. The two sides exchanged views on deepening cooperation in primary and secondary education between China and Zimbabwe.
Ambassador Zhou noted that China is committed to promoting bilateral educational exchanges and cooperation. Through supporting the construction of educational infrastructure, providing teacher training projects and government scholarships and promoting inter-school exchanges, China assists Zimbabwe in improving the educational standards and facilities of primary and secondary schools, and supports Zimbabwe to advance its national education development strategy. China is ready to work with Zimbabwe to implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), launch more projects that benefit students and the people, with a view to laying a solid foundation for Zimbabwe's economic and social development.
Expressing gratitude for China's long-standing and valuable support for the development of Zimbabwe's education sector, Minister Moyo hoped that through deepening Zimbabwe-China educational cooperation, strengthening personnel exchanges, and upgrading Zimbabwe's digitalization level of education, the quality and efficiency of education in remote areas could be enhanced, so as to contribute to Zimbabwe-China friendship and Zimbabwe's Vision 2030.
