Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding Attends Launching Ceremony of Partnership between China Daily and the Financial Gazette

    On June 11, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding attended the launching ceremony of partnership between China Daily and the Financial Gazette under Zimbabwe's Jester Media Services. The event brought together nearly 100 participants, including Zimbabwean Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcast Services Jefan Muswere, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcast Services Nick Mangwana, ZANU-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity Christopher Mutsvangwa and Group CEO of Jester Media Services Pilate Machadu, as well as friends from all walks of life. 

    Noting that deepening media cooperation between China and Zimbabwe is an important consensus reached by the two heads of state during President Mnangagwa’s state visit to China last year, Ambassador Zhou expressed his hope that the two sides would work together to build objective, unbiased, truthful and credible media service platforms that deliver high-quality news and information, enhancing mutual understanding between the two peoples and promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, with a view to further enriching and substantiating the China-Zimbabwe Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation.

    Expressing appreciation for China’s long-term support for Zimbabwe's economic and social development, Minister Muswere stated that the establishment of a partnership between the two important media outlets of China and Zimbabwe would provide new opportunities for the adaptive development of Zimbabwe’s media sector. He anticipated joint endeavours to help elevate the robust Zimbabwe-China relations to new heights.
