Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding Attends the Zimbabwe Finals of the 2025 "Chinese Bridge" Competition

    On May 30, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding attended and delivered remarks at the Zimbabwe Finals of the 2025 "Chinese Bridge" Competition. The event brought together over 400 attendees, including the Vice Chancellors of the University of Zimbabwe Artwel Mamvuto and Hodson Makurira, as well as teachers and students from the Confucius Institute at the University of Zimbabwe.

    In his remarks, Ambassador Zhou highlighted that the "Chinese Bridge" competition has become an important platform for inter-civilizational dialogue and a tangible embodiment of the "Global Civilization Initiative" being implemented in various countries around the world. He expressed his hope that the students in Zimbabwe would use Chinese language as a window to appreciate the charm of Chinese culture, serve as envoys of China-Zimbabwe friendship, and infuse youthful vitality into the development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation between the two countries.

    Noting that Chinese language education has not only promoted deeper cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries but also furnished talent support for Zimbabwe’s pursuit of its "Vision 2030", Vice Chancellor Mamvuto called upon young Zimbabwean students to contribute to their nation’s development and the strengthening of China-Zimbabwe friendship.

    During the competition, the contestants showcased remarkable attainments in Chinese language learning and their understanding on Chinese cultural through articulate speeches and captivating talent shows.
