Hello there, folks! This year, 2025, is a super special year as it marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Zimbabwe. The Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe invites you to join an essay contest to mark this milestone and reflect on the journey that our two countries have walked together and the path ahead.

The theme of the essay contest is “45 Years On: My Views on China-Zimbabwe Friendship”. Before you start crafting your essay to share your personal observations, cool experiences, and unique insights, please spend a few minutes thinking about these questions: 

• How would you describe the China-Zimbabwe friendship as we celebrate this 45-year milestone?
• How do you benefit from China-Zimbabwe cooperation?
• And how can we unlock even more potential in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation between our two countries, building on all the great things we’ve achieved together in the past 45 years? 

Here’s how to enter the contest (it’s breeze!): 

Just put “2025 Essay Contest” in your email subject and indicate, at the top of your email message, your name, whatsapp number and workplace/school. Then, attach your essay (900-1500 words) in .doc or .docx format, and send it to:

The essay submission deadline is Sunday, 6th July 2025. Don't let this date pass you by!

This is your chance to be part of this wonderful celebration of Zimbabwe-China fraternal friendship! We want to hear your voice. Winners of this contest will be awarded $50 to $500. Outstanding prize-winning essays stand a chance to be published in mainstream media of both China and Zimbabwe, and the X (formerly Twitter) platform of the Chinese Embassy (@ChineseZimbabwe).
