On 21 March, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe Cheng Yan met with Permanent Secretary of Zimbabwean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Albert Chimbindi.
Cheng Yan stated that leveraging the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity, China stands ready to further strengthen coordination and deepen cooperation with Zimbabwe, actively implement the significant consensus reached by the two heads of state and jointly realize the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, with a view to improving the well-being of the two peoples.
Expressing appreciation for China’s long-standing and valuable support for Zimbabwe, Albert Chimbindi reiterated that Zimbabwe supports the important concepts and initiatives proposed by China, firmly adheres to the One-China policy as always, and is committed to deepening cooperation with China across all fields.
