Chinese Ambassador Zhou Ding meets with Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Amon Murwira

On 20 February 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding met with Amon Murwira, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe. The two sides engaged in-depth discussions on the development of China-Zimbabwe relations and practical cooperation.

Ambassador Zhou emphasized that the traditional friendship between China and Zimbabwe has withstood the test of time and remained rock-solid, with the two countries maintaining strong mutual political trust, and bilateral cooperation producing fruitful results in various fields. Taking the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity, China is ready to thoroughly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and work closely with the Zimbabwean side to promote implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), with a view to continuously substantiating the China-Zimbabwe comprehensive strategic partnership for cooperation, and enhancing the well-being of the two peoples.

Highly commending the fraternal relations between Zimbabwe and China, Minister Murwira stressed that the friendly cooperation between the two countries has played a significant role in supporting Zimbabwe to resist illegal sanctions and achieve national development. He reiterated that the Zimbabwean Government will firmly adhere to the One-China policy, support the important concepts and initiatives put forward by China, and is willing to deepen cooperation with China in all fields to jointly create a brighter future for Zimbabwe-China relations.
