Ambassador Zhou Ding Attends 20th Anniversary Celebration of Zimbabwe’s Professional Women, Women Executives and Business Women’s Forum

On Friday, 7 February 2025, H.E. Zhou Ding, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, attended an event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Professional Women, Women Executives and Business Women's Forum (PROWEB), together with Hon. Monica Mutsvangwa, Zimbabwean Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development. Nearly a hundred female representatives from various sectors in Zimbabwe were in attendance of the event, which was hosted by Ms. Tendayi Mamvura, President of the Forum.

Ambassador Zhou Ding warmly congratulated the Forum on its significant contributions to the development of Zimbabwe and the cause of women empowerment by assisting professionals, business executives and female entrepreneurs since its establishment. He said that the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Zimbabwe would be an opportunity for China to augment its championing for the undertakings of women in Zimbabwe, and that he hoped Zimbabwean women's communities would continue to care about and support advancement of the amicable relations between the two countries.

Minister Mutsvangwa expressed appreciation to China for its long-term assistance and staunch support for the cause of women empowerment in Zimbabwe, emphasising that the deepening of economic cooperation between the two countries is conducive to promoting women's empowerment, employment and people's livelihood improvement in Zimbabwe. She called on outstanding Zimbabwean women entrepreneurs to actively participate in China-Zimbabwe cooperation, with a view to bringing more benefits to the people of the two countries.
