2025-01-15 02:43

On January 11, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding attended the 2025 Chinese Lunar New Year celebration event jointly organized by the Zimbabwe Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the China-Zimbabwe Exchange Center, and various overseas Chinese organizations and business associations. The event brought together over 500 participants from the Chinese community and local friends in Zimbabwe.

During the event, Ambassador Zhou extended New Year greetings to the overseas Chinese and staff of Chinese enterprises and institutions in Zimbabwe. He highlighted that 2024 had been a pivotal year for China-Zimbabwe relations. President Mnangagwa paid a successful state visit to China and attended the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, during which significant consensus on strengthening China-Zimbabwe relations has been reached between the two heads of States. In the past year, China-Zimbabwe cooperation has borne fruitful results, which would not have been possible without the joint efforts and hard work of the Chinese nationals in Zimbabwe.

The celebration was marked by a lively and vibrant atmosphere. Ambassador Zhou dotted eyes of the lion dance costume and distributed “Spring Festival packages” to representatives of the Chinese community. Both Chinese and local artists staged captivating performances, while Chinese restaurants and enterprises showcased their offerings at the event.
