Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding Attends Zimbabwe-China Business Forum 2024

On November 20th, Chinese Ambassador Zhou Ding attended and delivered a keynote speech at the Zimbabwe-China Business Forum 2024. Minister of State for Mashonaland West Marian Chombo, Minister of State for Mashonaland East Apollonia Munzverengwi, Deputy Minister of Energy Yeukai Simbanegavi, as well as around 200 government officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Zimbabwe Investment Development Authority, ZimTrade and representatives from business communities of both sides attended the event.

In his speech, Ambassador Zhou stated that following the successful convening of the 2024 FOCAC summit and President Mnangagwa’s state visit to China, China-Zimbabwe relations entered a new "Golden Era". He reiterated that China stood ready to work with Zimbabwe to implement the outcomes of FOCAC, further increase Chinese investment in Zimbabwe and promote the growth of bilateral trade to support Zimbabwe’s industrialization, modernization and its realization of Vision 2030.

Zimbabwean participants highly commended the cooperation between the two countries and expect more Chinese companies to invest in Zimbabwe. They called for more efforts to explore the potential of cooperation and optimize the business environment in Zimbabwe.

The participants also held panel discussions on trade, investment and business-to-business engagements.
