Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding Attends the Launch Ceremony of the Solar Lighting Program

On December 5th, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding visited Zvimba District, Mashonaland West Province to attend the Launch Ceremony of the Embassy's Solar Lighting Program, donating 1000 portable solar lights and daily necessities to the underprivileged local families. The National Chairman of ZANU-PF and Minister of Defence O.C.Z. Muchinguri-Kashiri, ZANU-PF Secretary for Women’s League and President of the Senate Marble Chinomona, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland West Marian Chombo, and more than 3,000 local residents attended the event.

Ambassador Zhou pointed out that China-Zimbabwe cooperation always focuses on Zimbabwe's socioeconomic development and people's livelihoods. The Solar Lighting Program aims to address the basic need of rural residents for electricity, brighten up their children's reading desks in the evening, and improve the well-being of the underprivileged families in rural areas.

Hon.Muchinguri-Kashiri and other attendees of the event thanked China for always providing valuable support for Zimbabwe in times of need and praised China as Zimbabwe's true brother and most reliable partner. The Chinese medical team in Zimbabwe provided free health check-ups for the local people on the spot.
