On 28 November, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding attended the Ribbon-cutting and Donation Ceremony for the refurbishment of the China-Aid Chiwaridzo Primary School in Mashonaland Central Province. Representatives from Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Office of Minister of State for Mashonaland Central, and around 700 teachers, students and representatives of the local communities attended the event.
Ambassador Zhou stated that education is an integral part of China-Zimbabwe cooperation and China is committed to implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and will continue to assist in school construction and renovation, providing scholarships and training opportunities to support Zimbabwe to realize its educational modernization and Vision 2030.
Representatives of Zimbabwean government and the school headmaster appreciated the Chinese side for the strong support and hope the two countries could further strengthen cooperation in education, carry forward China-Zimbabwe friendship from generation to generation and jointly advancing to modernization.
Ambassador Zhou was invited to present prizes to the outstanding school students at the ceremony.
