On November 22, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding visited the Mbare community on the outskirts of Harare in Zimbabwe and donated to the families affected by the recent fire disaster. Representatives from the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Small Medium Enterprise Development, local youth organizations and over 100 families receiving donations attended the event.
Ambassador Zhou extended his sincere sympathy to the affected families and local people, emphasizing that China and Zimbabwe have shared profound traditional friendship that continues to flourish in the new era. This fraternal friendship is firmly anchored in the intimate bond that unites the hearts of the two peoples and in their unwavering commitment to sharing weal and woe. The Chinese Embassy provided school fees and stationery to support the youth and children from the most affected families to overcome difficulties and empower them to become the talents of the country who will contribute more to society in the future. Ambassador Zhou expressed his best wishes on the revival of the Mbare Musika to its former prosperity.
Representatives from Zimbabwean government departments and youth organizations, as well as affected local families, highly praised the embassy’s assistance when it is in the most need. They stated that it embodied the true brotherhood and partnership between Zimbabwe and China and helped to strengthen the confidence of the affected people in the reconstruction of the communities.
