Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding pays a courtesy call on H.E. Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe

    On August 14th, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding paid a courtesy call on H.E. Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe. The chief director for political affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and the Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy attended the meeting.

    Ambassador Zhou Ding emphasized that the China-Zimbabwe friendship has been tested and proven, and the two countries have always firmly supported each other, achieving fruitful results in pragmatic cooperation. He congratulated Zimbabwe on taking over as the chairperson of the Southern African Development Community and sincerely welcomed President Mnangagwa to attend the upcoming summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing. Ambassador Zhou Ding said it is hoped that China and Zimbabwe will seize the opportunity of the new FOCAC summit to jointly elevate the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation to a new height.

    President Mnangagwa highly praised the China-Zimbabwe relations and appreciated the strong support from China for Zimbabwe's economic development and social stability. He looked forward eagerly to attending the FOCAC summit and reaffirmed that Zimbabwe is always committed to developing China-Zimbabwe relations and deepening bilateral cooperation in various fields.
