On Feburary 5, 2016, the Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe H.E. Mr. Huang Ping attended the Handover Ceremony of Donations to Zimbabwe HIV/AIDS Activist Union Community Trust (ZHAAUCT), during which he handed over the $13,000 worth of donations of bicycles, blankets, laptops, sewing machines and printer on behalf of the Chinese Community in Zimbabwe to the Zimbabwean side. Representative from National AIDS Committee, Board Members and Patron from ZHAAUCT and about 50 local residents were present.

In his remarks, Ambassador Huang briefed about the address by Chinese First Lady Professor Peng Liyuan in the activity of Africa-China Partnership: Caring for an HIV-free Generation, which joined by First Ladies from 10 African countries in Johannesburg, South Africa. He wished the donations could go a long way in helping the people in need to start their own business and in turn to improve their living standard.

The representatives from Zimbabwean side expressed their sincere thanks to the Chinese side for the donation, and gave a briefing about the progress of prophylaxis and treatment in HIV/AIDS in Zimbabwe and the difficulties ahead.
