Chinese Ambassador Lin Lin Donates Livelihood Materials to Mazowe Central Constituency

On December 18, Chinese Ambassador Lin Lin paid a visit to Mazowe Central constituency. He toured a local clinic,inspected a borehole funded by the Chinese government, and donated10 water pumps, 50 blankets, 4 computers and some soccer balls to the local community on behalf of the Chinese Embassy. Deputy Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Mrs. Tabeth Malinga as well as over 100 local ZANU-PF officials and residents attended the donation ceremony.

In his speech, Ambassador Lin made a brief introduction of China and China-Zimbabwe relations.He said that bilateral relations in terms of high-level exchanges, political mutual trust, trade and investment cooperation as well as cultural and people-to-people exchanges have kept strong momentum in recent years. The embassy has carried out a series of livelihood projects in order for more Zimbabwean people at grass-root level to benefit from thegood bilateral ties. He hoped that the donation will help the local community improve their living standards.

Deputy Minister Malinga expressed her gratitude for the constant assistance China has provided to Zimbabwe. She said that the donation was another demonstration of China’s support for the development of Zimbabwe, and would effectively help better the lives of local people and enable more children to study modern technology. She noted that whilesome Western countries are still imposing sanctions on Zimbabwe, China remains Zimbabwe’s best friend and closest partner. She hoped that the two countries will keep up the strong momentum of cooperation and bring more benefit to the people of Zimbabwe.
