On July 24, the China-Zimbabwe Quiz Show co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy and ZBC was held at the Embassy Hall. They were divided into four teams of three contestants, with both Chinese and Zimbabweans in each team. The team composed of contestants from the Chinese Embassy and Zimbabwe University won the top prize, and a contestant from ZANU-PF won the best-player award. Over 60 Chinese and Zimbabwean guests watched the quiz show.
In conclusion of the quiz, Ambassador Lin congratulated the contestants on their wonderful performances during the show, and concluded that this is a win-win outcome as each team has players from both countries. He believed that people-to-people exchanges are an important aspect of China-Zimbabwe relations. Only when the peoples understand and befriend each other can the bilateral relations have a solid foundation and be more fruitful. He was glad to see that this quiz show did a great job in increasing the mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries and two peoples, and wished that with the strong momentum of growth in economic and trade cooperation, such activities would bring the hearts of the two peoples closer.
Deputy Minister Mutsvangwa said he was impressed by the broadness and depth of knowledge of the young participants. The friendship between the two countries dates back to the revolution struggles. He hoped that more such events would be held to promote and develop the traditional friendship and deepen mutual exchange and understanding between the youth.
ZBC recorded the quiz show, which will be on air very soon.
