Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Qin Gang's Remarks on the G20 Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy
2008-11-17 15:43

Q: The just-concluded G20 Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy issued a statement. Does China have any comment?

A: The G20 Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy has concluded in Washington. President Hu Jintao and leaders of other countries attended the meeting. The meeting is significant for the international community to jointly cope with the financial crisis, promote the growth of the world economy and reform the international financial framework. The statement released at the meeting is comprehensive, positive and balanced, conductive to raising the confidence of the international community to address the financial crisis and drawing more attention on the issue of development. China hopes that countries could continue to contribute to the growth of the world economy by enhancing coordination, seeking consensus, strengthening financial regulation in real earnest, and taking further actions to prevent global economic recession. The next Summit should be even better on the basis of this session.
