A:In order to implement the consensus reached at the third round of six-party talks and to promote the convening of the fourth round of six-party talks before the end of September as planned, the Chinese side has been in close communications and coordination with all parties concerned, and has done a lot of work in promoting the talks and peace. Due to the complicated factors known to all, it is quite difficult to convene the fourth round of the six-party talks as planned. The Chinese side, however, still hopes to convene the next round of talks as early as possible. As for when the talks could be held, it depends on the efforts of various parties.

A:The six-party talks have achieved many important agreements, and the most important among them is to peacefully solve the nuclear issue of the Korean peninsula through dialogue and to realize a nuclear-free Korean peninsula.
Although there are some difficulties at present, we are still optimistic about the prospect of the six-party talks. We are willing to work together with other parties so that the next round of talks could be held as early as possible.
